Auditions for Cast for the 2008 Season of the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival

March 29th, 2008 1:00 pm to 3 pm

What you need:

- An interest in improv and performing for patrons coming to enjoy a day in 14th century Scotland.

- A 2-3 minute monologue, or a reading to perform for the directors

- a song (if you wish) it can be anything from a period piece to Happy Birthday!

- We will also ask you to do a bit of improvisational acting with one of the directors, nothing huge, just giving you an idea of what we are looking for!

***It's March in Kentucky, the weather could go any which way. Sooo, you might want to bring a jacket.

More info will soon be available, if you have any specific questions for Ed Fredericks (owner/Cast Director), you can email through the KHRF site, his email is gm@kyrenfaire.com

The KHRF website is www.kyrenfaire.com

Please let anyone you think would be interested know to come out and audition!

Thank you!

Hi I'm not sure if this is allowed in this community. However I had some questions about the circus.

Earlier today I went to a local carnival that travels up the east coast and talked to the person who runs it. Unfortunatly they were filled up. He did say the best way to get a job in this business is to just ask.

I suppose I'm looking for advice. The problem is I'm not the "average" looking person, with very large stretched ears, and tattoos and piercings. Getting a job where I live so far has been impossible. But that doesn't upset me because I chose to look this way because I think I look better and I'm more happy with myself.

So how would one go about getting into a circus? Especially when you do not have any kind of sideshow act or anything. There must be other jobs within the circus that exist. I was going to try going to the cony island (sp?) shool where they teach you some of the tricks of the trade. But finacially it fell through.

Anyways any advice you could give me would be much appreciated.

Sorry if this isn't allowed here, I'll remove it if you want me to

Maybe, it will also be necessary to purchase a can of black spray paint too :P

1:46 am - I wanna show my devotion

So what's the latest news on merch?

I wanna be the first in Boston with a Pickled Bros. T-shirt.

Of course it's like 8 degrees here right now, so it's not like I'll be wearing a t-shirt any time soon, but a sticker for my bass case would be equally cool.

current mood: sleepy

fracksfreakshow what a weird show we did today. for two twins for there 7th birthday party. think one of them who's birthday it was, he was the most scared person there. he screamed and cried, and tried to run away. it was fun though. and then made balloon animals for all the kids, kind of hard when between travis and frack we make a total of 5 things. luckily most of them wanted swords, but it's amazing how fast they all popped and came running back for another one.
